I'm not sure if I will be able to keep up with the pace of the class. Do I need to be in shape before I start taking classes?

No. As you participate in class, you will develop cardio and specific endurance through the regular training. Weight loss, muscle development, coordination and overall better physical fitness are just SOME of the rewards that come from training Jiu-Jitsu. Also, you are welcome to pace yourself throughout the class. We always want you to try your hardest, but we understand that, if you reach your limit, you must sit out at certain times.
